The photo exhibition «Faces. The portrait in European photography since 1990″, co-jointly organized by the BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts, Nederlands Fotomuseum and the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography continues its journey in Spain.

The exhibition was first shown in Brussels (06 / 02-17 / 05/15), then in Rotterdam (30 / 05-23 / 08/15) and then at the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography (11/09 / 15-28 / 02 / 16), bringing thousands of visitors and schoolchildren.
The journey continued in Paris, in an open facility between the Musée d’Orsay and the Seine River, under the Dutch EU Presidency, and since June 1st, the exhibition unedited moved to Madrid in the International Photography Festival PhotoEspaña (www.phe.es).

The Spanish photo festival opened on Wednesday, June 1, including in the official selection the exhibition «Faces. The portrait in European photography since 1990 “, which is hosted in CentroCentro Cibeles, a symbolic building symbolic of Madrid, participating for the third consecutive year in PhotoEspaña. During the first half of its operation, the festival received more than 37,000 visitors, and the exhibition will remain in CentroCentro until August 28, 2016.

The European photographic portrait continues, therefore, to travel and to pose open questions on the formation of Europe’s identity, through 200 works of 33 photographers and artists from 20 countries (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, USA, Ireland, Israel, Italy, M. Britain, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Finland), who in the last 25 years have contributed decisively to the configuration.

It is worth noting the presence of three Greek artists (Konstantinos Ignatiadis, Stratos Kalafatis, Nikos Markou) in this important European partnership, which highlights the Greek presence in the European landscape photography.
