Avgitidou Aggeliki

Angeliki Avgitidou studied architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and fine arts in London. She holds a Master and a PhD degree from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. She has held exhibitions internationally in venues such as the ICA (London) and the French Museum of Photography. She has presented papers at conferences such as Computers in Art and Design Education (Glasgow, 2001) and the International Symposium on Electronic Arts (Japan, 2002). In 2001 she organised the seminar “The Artist in Digital Art” at Tate Gallery (London) and edited an issue of Digital Creativity on the same subject. In 2010 she co-organised the seminars “Performance Now v.1: Performative practices in art and actions in situ” at the School of Fine and Applied Arts, University of Western Macedonia where she has been elected Assistant Professor. She has co-authored the book Memory Transference (cannot not publications, 2009), and she is co-editing the book “Performance now: Performative practices in art and actions in situ”. Her performance “Recitation” was presented at the 2nd Biennale of Contemporary Art of Thessaloniki (Greece). For the 2nd Performance Festival of the 3rd Biennale of Contemporary Art of Thessaloniki, Angeliki coordinated and participated as an educator at the workshop: “Performance Now v.2: Body/Space”.
