This year's Photosynkyria - the 14th of these major annual events - was the first to be held at the new premises of the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, from February to March 2002. The specific title chosen for this year's event was My Brother's Image.
The overall title for the 14th Photosynkyria was: Humanism and Photography after Steichen. The artistic director was Eric Auzoux, one of the co-founders of Photosynkyria in 1988. The artists whose work was represented in the major group exhibition were the following:

The central theme of the exhibition was the contribution made by the art of photography in the area of human values. It was our intention to examine various photographic approaches and idioms in this area and also to explore the act of photographing the human subject as experienced by the photographer himself.
