Speech event at the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography
CROSSROADS “Photography and Theatre”

The Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, under CROOSSROADS speeches cycle organizes on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 19:00, an event entitled “Photography and Theatre”, in collaboration with the National Theatre of Northern Greece.
The event will explore the creative encounter of photography with the theatre and their convergence in the representation of the real. There will be discussed issues related to the instantaneous representation of the theatrical act, the principles and various tropics of theatrical photography, the use of photography in modern theatre as a stage element, as well as its value in historical and archival research for the design of theatrical scenery and costumes.
In the framework of the event, NTNG actors Lila Vlachopoulou and Stefanos Pittas will read an excerpt from the work of Italo Calvin The Adventure of a Photographer (1955).
The debate will include:
• Professor of Theatrology of AUTh and President of the Hellenic Association of Critics of Theatre and Performing Arts, Savvas Patsalidis
• Assistant Professor at the Department of Journalism & Mass Media of AUTh, Zoe Ververopoulou
• The costume designer, Christos Broufas
