The Thessaloniki Museum of Photography offers its visitors the opportunity to tour the exhibition [selfimages], which addresses the complicated subject of self image in Greek photography since the 70’s.
The guide tours will take place on Saturday 17/3, 31/3, 21/4, 5/5, 19/5 and 9/6, at 12:00, by the Head of the Educational Programs of the ThMP, Maria Kokorotsou and art-historian / curator, Thodoris Markoglou.
The exhibition, which is a study of the different ways in which modern Greek photographers deal with self-portrait, presents more than 130 works by 33 artists, structured in five sections: Autobiography, Identity, Fluidity, Familiar and Public, Primordial Memory. In these sections, the historical creations of the self-portrait are creatively recycled to the areas of the author’s negotiation with his image.
