CROSSROADS “Photography and Internet”

The Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, under CROOSSROADS speeches cycle and the International Museum Day 2018 organizes on Friday, May 18, 2018, at 19:30, an event entitled “Photography and Internet”.

The event will discuss issues of how familiar the visitors are with the presence of museums on the Internet, what technological means make their cyber presence more attractive to cultural and art operators, how digital photography and the Internet changes the viewer’s experience in a museum. Also, within the self-image and the relationship of photography to the internet, selfies will be considered as part of the long tradition of self-portrayal, and the commonplace between self-portrait and selfie will be explored.

The discussion panel will include:
• Director of Univeristy of Macedonia Publications Joanna Dandelia
• Αssociate professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Media of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Gregory Paschalidis
• Director of ThMP Hercules Papaioannou
