Pieler Hans (1951 – 2012)

Hans Pieler had been based in Berlin since 1978 as a photographer in advertising and journalism. Simultaneously, he worked on numerous independent conceptual projects which resulted in several photo series portraying a certain point of view (Zu Hause inNeufünfland, Nachtschicht, Zeitzeichen). He had been participating in international one-man shows and group exhibitions since the late 1980’s. His work is held at art fairs as well as in public and private collections. His first book StopOver, covering street impressions as a result of an around-the-world trip, was published in 1992. Augenblicke ­ Menschen in Berlin was published in 1998. Hans Pieler held a professorship for photography at the Hochschule für angewandte Kunst und Wissenschaft in Hildesheim.
