Vogiatzis Stratis (1978-)

He was born in 1978 in Chios, Greece. He studied in the Economics department of the Aristotle’s University of Thessaloniki and Social Anthropology in the University of Amsterdam. He also studied photography in Stereosis, a photographic centre in Thessaloniki.

He has worked in Palestine as a researcher on children and political violence and in New Delhi on lifelong education for the governmental organization, IALE. He has also worked in the “Culture Houses” of Havana, Cuba as an assistant on educational issues and as a professor in the Roma communities of Thessaloniki.

He has participated in photographic commissions and creative projects in over twenty countries. His works have been presented in several solo and group exhibitions, in Greece and abroad, and they are part of museum and private collections. He has directed a number of independent documentaries which have been awarded in national and international festivals. Four books of his work have been published so far. Since 2011, he is head of the Caravan Project, a travelogue through Greece collecting people’s stories.
