Born in Augsburg in Germany. He’s been a photographer since the sixties. He studied photography at Folkwangschule School in Essen, at Kilian Breier in Darmstadt and in Hamburg. He worked with Stern magazine (1967-70), while since 1971 he’s been working as a freelance photographer. In 1998 he was awarded with the International Press Award for Science and Technology. He lives and works in Berlin since 1995.
