Born in Athens, he studied phusics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and photography at the Institut Francais de la Photographie in Paris. Since 1977, he teaches photography at the School of Graphic and Artistic Studies in Athens, while he has served as Head of Administration of the Department of Photography from 1985 to 1992 and from 2000 to 2003. From 1977 to 1985, he worked as a photographer in the field of advertising photography. He has held numerous exhibitions in Greece and abroad, while, being a founding member of the Photographic Center of Athens since 1979, he has organized many exhibitions of Greek and foreign phoographers. From 2002 to 2005, he has served as Director of the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography.
