Playing with light In this workshop the children understand how the very first pictures were made by making blue prints and by seeing the way a Camera Obscura works – an optical device which was used by the 15th century painters and is the precursor of the photographic camera. In collaboration with Stephanos Tsakiris.
The city of Thessaloniki Using as a starting point pictures of Thessaloniki from the Socratis Iordanidis and Yiannis Stylianou archives, the students will approach the city’s history and will create their own diorama. In collaboration with Yiouli Stamati.

Make your own ad All media hide codes and conditions through which their message becomes clear. The purpose of this program is for students to make the connection between the meaning of every image with its context and to explain it in relation to its viewer. The children work in groups by using their favorite advertisements which they will deconstruct and then reconstruct with collage and painting. In the end they take their own picture and place themsleves in the ads they have created.

Imaginary lands The children will listen to a story and then imagine a world of their own. They will wonder how it is to live in other lands. They will then create the place they desire by using the technique of collage, painting and photography. In collaboration with Yiouli Stamati.

An educational programme will also be realized during the exhibition “Out of the Ordinary. 1970-1980” by Joel Meyerowitz at the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography.
