9 October – 13 December 2009 / Thessaloniki Museum of Photography

Exhibition curated by: Vangelis Ioakimidis
Production-Organization: TMP

“Artists hunger to find a formula for rediscovering the Image as mathematicians look for a model to explain the Universe”.

We shall find ourselves followers in this quest of discovering the Image, to which Philip Tsiaras is referring, in his first retrospective photography exhibition in Greece. The exhibition of this internationally recognized multifarious artist –sculptor, visual artist, poet- who lives and works in New York includes 200 selected works from significant series from 1971 till today, covering a big part of his photographic oeuvre. The works are presented in five sections: “Motion”, “Faces”, “The Self”,“Family Album” and “LandMarks”. A bilingual catalogue of the exhibition will also be available.

Exhibition series: The Greeks of the Diaspora
The exhibition is realized as part of the 44th Dimitria of the Municipality of Thessaloniki under the auspices of the Hellenic Culture Organization, with the support of the municipality of Thessalinki and the company “Attiko Metro S.A.”.
