Print

2 March – 20 May 2012 / Museum of Photography, Thessaloniki

Opening: Friday, 2 March, 20.00
Words and Images: Saturday, 3 March, 17.30
“Notes from the Middle East”: An open discussion with the artists of the exhibition and Fouad Elkoury.

With works by Athina Kazolea (Palestine), Demetris Koilalous (Lebanon), Yiorgos Kordakis (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia), Emmanouil Papadopoulos (Qatar), Paris Petridis (Egypt, Israel).

As part of a commission of the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, the five Greek photographers travelled to countries of the Middle East in 2011 to produce their own original series. In the 100 works of this exhibition the artists invite us to see the countries which they visited and also challenge us to reflect, subvert or confirm stereotypes and ideas on the region.

The exhibition is presented as part of the program “Thessaloniki-Cultural Crossroads” initiated by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Tourism (with the financial support of OPAP).
